you think on vacation I would not think knitting or crochet, so not true hahahaha.

I brought along ALL my crochet hooks ( which I think is about 25 give or take who knows) and 2 circular knitting needles.  3 sizes of crochet thread and 1 cake of Zen Yarn Garden merino/bamboo sock yarn.

So what is my hooks and needles?

on size 10 thread is my great gmas replica doily…but had to stop due to being out of that thread color. but progress is awesome on that, the pattern was soooooooooo easy to figure out. I will be posting it as a FREE pattern. http://geocities.com/needlesandpinza

then on size D hook I have a new sock pattern I am designing. I am on the lace portion and that has included a fair amount of frogging but thats what you get when you design as you go, creative license to change your mind hahahahaha.

this is being made for ZYG… of course. lol the pattern will go with her In-Sync yarns.

and on Us 5 circs I have a top that is going to be for DD… designing as I go. I know what I want the end product to look like but we have been running so much I only get time for a new rows/rounds while driving in the car. oh ya and this is in DMC Senso crochet thread size 3. the microfiber cotton! I love knitting with this stuff!

I am using a larger needle than I normally do but I wanted a lighter more drapey fabric. I usually perfer a 2 or 3 with Senso.

airplane project

my great grandmother had doilies laying EVERYWHERE in her house.

these are 2 my mom gave me.

well I am going to take them with me and finally figure out her pattern.

I have all of her old patterns and these were not in there 😦

I am taking 3 sizes of thread with three sizes of hooks.

currently I have size 10 thread and a size 7 steel hook. ready to go.

so far its looks like very very basic filet. so its looking like an easy pattern.

I will get it posted when I am done. I will not post gauge for those gauge shy people. that way you can make it as big or as small as you want just by changing thread and hook size.

eyyyyyyyyye eye eye I thought this was never going to get finished, everything under the sun has been happening lately! you think with only 1 child at home (the boys are with the inlaws for a week) I would get alot more done..umm ya NO!
but here she is. I erased my white white winter legs, thank god we will be in the warm Flordia sun soon!

oh I went to do gmas hair last week on her last day of rehab at Progressive… which on the other side of the building is the nursing home side…where my gpa lives.

well that was an interesting day. You think after 65 years married gpa would not hang around gma so much, but he was hanging over here obessing. it was quite cute and all, but sad. I wish gpa could move back home, but no one really knows when the dementia will turn into alheizmers. And gma now with the bone cancer can not be trying to help him…hes a big guy!  But he was on top of his game that day. he looked so great and his mind was there. which reminds me I need to call them before we leave.

hmmm well I wont start on my sister. I will just leave it at. I have to stop being so nice for family.

oh AND this is a biggy.

about 2 years ago my cousin was diagnosed with Celiacs desease (her body cant process wheat products). well celiacs is congential, so my cousins doctor in Madison told her to have her mother tested. Well my aunts test came back positve as well. so her doctor told her to send all her siblings in! So far my moms baby sister is the only one to do it so far…it was positive! eye yeyeye.

So after mom gets back from vacation she has to be tested as do my sister and I.

Oh and I found out something more interesting. My aunt was talking about gma. a long time ago she had a few feet of her intestines removed! ding ding ding bells and whistles..yup bet gmas has it to! it definitly explains have the skin problems EVERYONE on that side of the family has…I am just the only one cursed with the damn sores on my face. both my mom and one uncle were repeatly tested and were told, its some type of topic dermatitis…but no one could give a real answer. and ugg ds1 has major scalp troubles and I am just betting its part of it.

my dd has her 2 year check up on the 4th so I am going to bring it up then. I want all 3 kids tested. All are showing symptons.

All these years I thought my stomach troubles were just going to be a life long thing..which is still true but since celiacs in not cureable but it is controlable.

So here I sit knowing how I need to change my diet but cant change it til after my blood work is done because then it wont show. so ya I get to live with this crappy stomach for hopefully no longer than I have to. it will suck to change everything but obviously our whole family can help each other. it will be nice for once to actually digest my food and get some of the nutrients! ok but we dont need to go into details.

what else…

oh Monday my parents took the boys and flew to my inlaws where they met at the airport and then mom and dad went on a seperate mini vacation, but today they drove back to The Villages and are staying there. Mom called tonight and it was so cute. they love it there. mom is not old enough yet to live there but maybe in 2 years they will consider it. (you have to turn 55 within a year of moving there). its an awesome place , so not what you expect from a retirement community.

We will fly there and be together with everyone soon! It will be so nice to see my boys again. ugggggggg I miss then so bad. this is just not right not having them here.

ok but wanna know how messed up our flight plans are.

first mom and Dad flew with the boys there…then we fly there (with dd), then they leave then we fly back home (with dd)….then my inlaws fly back home with the boys where they will stay at gmils. THEN they are here for easter then leave the day after with gmil.

lol my poor dad had the pleasure of calling midwest and setting up everyones itineraries, I am amazed everything has went so smooth so far. but thats why Dad was in charge of it. lol

what else…

Today dh has training for his second job. and they got the okeasure of being maced for their certification process. lmao well I should not lol because it caused serious pain. but now he is licensed for that too. Its amazing what this state required licenses for! you would think he would only need 1 license but NOOOOOOOO not in Wisconsin.

Next is DAT training then his gun. Basically Matt traines everyone to police levels. they are no rent a cops there. they know their stuff!

nope think thats it, but now I am freezing cold and tired and need to get up friggin early to take my sister to work so I best get to bed *sigh* why I dunno, I am too nice. My Dad even hollered at me for taking her on Tuesday, but what was I to do. she cant pay her bills as it is so she needs to work. whatever !

you CAN make pretty decent size items out of just 2 oz of roving!

this is 2 ply merino …YUMMMMMMMMMMMM

I just love the way the shadow cables show off the handspun.

and I just love the colorway I got by dyeing the roving first!

well I still have not managed to get my customers schedules seperated, so it a hair week again.

BUT when these weeks come about I have more structure to my day and accomplish ALOT.

I started on my first knit sock in months… my design…

   which was inspired by my idea for birthstone stitch markers.

and the biggest feat!

I just finished my second math class this session. Devry runs their math classes as self paced, and you only need to register for 1! As long as you completly finish your extra classes within the 8 weeks…there is no charge!!!! wooo hooo

. Since I did not want to be slave to the pc on vacation my goal was to finish before we go. so I finished 032 within week 1…so I moved onto 092…finished that today. keep in mind we still are only in week 2!!!!

and now an debating on starting 114 before we leave or after we come back home.

BUT the best part is, this class (the one I registered for) does not end until 4/29! so it is totally possible (and probable) to finish 3 classes…

I love it buy one get 2 free!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and have 12 credits in 1 session!!!! LOVE IT!

now only 120 more credits to go

*sigh*

and an update on my gma. We still have not got the results back from mayo clinic so right now she is staying on the rehabilition side of the nursing home that my gpa lives at…which makes things interesting…but you just have to know them as a couple. lol

so I have to go there tomorrow and give gma a perm. they have the cutest beauty shop in there. When I worked at H.G. we also went to the nursing homes to do hair. I know you are sitting there going ugg. but it was sooo fun. I loved it. my main nursing home was Greendale but would fill in at Progressive (then Heritage) when someone was sick. so I know that shop well. I am excited as I know gma is. I hope I can help her as I know I did all the others. Theres just something about having your hair done that helps a person. I was a bit upset when my Dad told me I had to charge her the same as I would normally, I feel bad, but now that HSH is a legal business I have to. But I know gma will appreciate it either way, I just feel bad taking her money. granted ya I only charge her a family rate. but travel expense etc. guess I cant be giving everything away. Dad means well.

what else.

Leon took a turn for the worse. so he is at St. Mary’s right now. we will see what everyone has to say on Sunday at Lexi’s b-day party. Mom is taking gma and Uncle roy up there to see him tomorrow, so I hope to hear better details. but its not looking good.

oh And Carol’s funeral was very nice said my mil. its so funny after they flew back to Flordia they called right away and we had to chuckle. you really have to know the person Carol was. in December she had set her funeral arrangements. She specified she wanted the Charley Daniels band to play and everyone to eat drink and be merry. YUP! and thats what they did.

we will miss you Carol, but you just keep cracking those jokes up in heaven!!! I am glad that Dylan has you up there so he can know how great you ARE just as we do.

yup it all comes in 3’s.
but hopefully Gma, Leon and Carol are it for a bit.

Lifting Pain’s Veil
Bitterness It is natural to feel resentment or anger when life does not unfold as expected. We consciously or unconsciously anticipated one experience, and we grieve for the loss of it when the universe puts something else in our path. Most of the time, we work through these feelings and they pass. Occasionally, our anger and resentment do not fade and are instead transformed into bitterness. Bitter feelings allow us to become perfect victims in that we no longer feel obliged to work toward healing and choose instead to identify with our pain. Yet as unwholesome as bitterness can be, it is also a natural element of our emotional palette. When we acknowledge that it is okay to feel bitter, we reconnect with our hurt in a constructive way and can begin the process of working through it.

The nature of bitterness is rooted in the fact that the pain we feel provides us with a rationale. We may feel that we deserve to embrace our bitterness to its full extent. And to be bitter is, in essence, to cut ourselves off from all that is positive, hardening our hearts and vowing never to let go of our hurt. But just as bitter feelings can be self-defeating, so too can the release of bitterness be life-affirming in a way that few other emotional experiences are. When we decide that we no longer want to be bitter, we are reborn into a world filled with delight and fulfillment unlike any we knew while in the clutches of bitterness. The veil it cast over our lives is lifted, letting light and warmth touch our souls.

Divesting yourself of bitter feelings can be as simple as truly forgiving and moving on. Even when your bitterness has no concrete object, you can forgive situations too. Healing pain can be challenging but may be easier if you remind yourself that you are the only entity truly affected by your emotional state. In time, you will discover that letting go of your bitterness frees you to initiate the healing process and allows you to once again celebrate the possibility of the more wonderful life you deserve.

well my TKF friends know about dh’s aunt and her fight with cancer… well the fight is over. Her pain finally stopped yesterday, and she can now join our other family in Heaven.

We love you Carol we will miss you! I cant wait to see you again. But as you would say, “I am not ready to see you there yet”

Carol please give Dylan a big hug for me. I love you.
